These will also assist with dental health and the hairy ears can support the dogs natural worming process, as when the chew is digested, any parasites within the digestive tract can cling to the hair, which is then passed through out the body - this should be accompanied by a regular worm count test to ensure there are no parasites/infestation that may need veterinary assistance/medication.
The hair on the ears can also "bulk up" any passing faeces, which in turn can also assist keeping the the anal glands in good order!
The air dried treats also provide a gentle abrasive action on the teeth when chewed, helping maintain healthy gum and oral health.
